Supercharged New Unis

The Los Angeles Chargers just revealed their new uniforms and out of all the teams that showed off new looks this season the Chargers are the only ones to knock it out of the park, completely. They literally did EVERYTHING I was hoping for. My mock-up of what I thought they would look like were the exact same, except for the yellow facemask (mine was white) and numbers on the helmets (I didn't have them on mine but I hoped they did bring them back). I know there was a good amount of people who were worried that Nike was going to mess up again as they did with the Jags, Browns, and the Bucs of the past (many would say with the Falcons this year, I would disagree) but instead twitter is abuzz with "take my money!" feelings and supercharged smiles.

The home unis. Yes, there are 2 proclaimed sets for their home games. The one you see above and the same jersey but with the yellow pants. Out of those two sets I like blue on white the best. I see a lot of love for the blue on yellow, but having a yellow bolt on the helmet and jersey and then a white bolt on the pants just throws it off for me. Not that the combo is bad, it's just why I prefer the white pants. This whole design is what everyone was expecting and honestly really hoping for. It is their best look in the history of the team. There was no reason not to bring the style back, with a modern feel, and try to win over the LA fans since they have been thought of like the stepchild when they came to LA with the Rams. The way this offseason has turned out so far, I believe they are about to switch places.

Now we move on to the 2 away sets. Like the home unis, there are white pants and the same jersey with yellow pants. Both of these unis look great, but my favorite is the all-white. Yes, I am a little bias because it is literally what I projected they would look like. The one thing I was hoping they did, above all else, is to have the lightning bolts WITHOUT the stripes as they have had for the last 3 decades, outside of the home unis in the early '90s (the navy blue set). I am so pleased to see they made that decision. I think the bolts look 100x better on their own. I still can't believe I nailed it lol. But there is no doubt, home or away, the Chargers are going to look so good.

Now let's move on to the color rush sets. Like the home and away there are 2 unis. One is pretty much their previous royal blue color rush set but without the stripes around the bolts on the shoulders and pants. It's solid, but this navy blue set (pictured above) takes the cake and then some. This uni is so sick and so unexpected it may be the best "color rush" uniform in the history of its existence. Hell, this uni is better than most team's sets, period. I usually don't like the same color from the jersey all the way to the socks, that's one of the main reasons I have hated color rush unis since they became a thing, but these are something else. It works so well and I really can't wait for the first time they wear these bad boys. Got to be a primetime night game. They will look so sick.

Now let's talk about a few things I don't like about these unis. Things I wish they would have done differently. There isn't any lol. I believe Nike just topped itself, the work they did with the Seahawks, with how they handled and executed the Chargers look. I think this is by far Nike's best work since taking over. I always think the unis look better worn on the field. Seeing how much I, and everyone else, love these uniforms just from the graphics shown, imagine how much better they are going to be on Sundays in the fall (hopefully there will be a season to be played). This is the best reveal all offseason.

The last thing I want to point out is for anyone saying something similar to this: "other than the bolt how would you tell it’s a chargers jersey. Put some font on the front of these." Y'all need some help. Anyone who IS a football fan WILL KNOW who's jersey these are. If they don't know, then they most likely don't follow football and it doesn't matter in that case. I don't get the need to put the name on the front of jerseys. I never liked it for the reason I just stated. If YOU need a team name on your jersey to know what team it is, that's on you. Not the team. Who are you people? lol
