In this series, I will be looking back on each NFL team and picking out my favorite logo, uniform, moment, and player in the history of that team. Next up, the Buffalo Bills.

This team is on a very short list of teams where I have liked basically every look they have ever had. Well, with the exception of one period of time, which we will get to. The charging Buffalo is my favorite logo, over the standing red Buffalo they wore on their helmets from '62 to '73. They have been wearing the charging Buffalo logo ever since and it is such a good logo. I hope they never change it. I don't mind if they tweak it, much like the Vikings did to theirs a few years back, but this logo needs to stay.

My favorite uniform in the team's history is a tough one for me. It is pretty much a tie, to be honest. I love their current set. They look so good. That blue just pops and it's beautiful to look at. I love the white helmets, the ones they wear now and from '74 to '83. I also love the helmets they wore '84 to '01, with the white AND blue facemasks. The Jim Kellys days are how I vision the Buffalo Bills so I have to give that set the very, very, very slight edge.

They have always had really good unis... except for the years between '02 to '10. I like to think of those as the Drew Bledsoe years, even though he was actually only there from '02 to '04. It's just the first player I think of when I think of those unis. Why do I dislike them you ask? Well, let's start with the side stripes. I really don't like jerseys with side stripes that go from the pants and up under the arm. They had wide red ones on the jersey and it connected to pant stripes that were red in the middle, then white, and then grey (on the blue pants). That doesn't match at all. Then they added a darker shade of blue that became their primary color and used the lighter blue as a inner stripe on the helmet, the color of the numbers on the away unis and on a weird outline on the shoulder on the home unis. And the one thing I couldn't stand the most was the shoulder design on the away unis. To me, the whole design was a mess. But as we have all seen, in '11 they went back to a great design with some modern touches and it has been solid ever since.

I was thinking really hard about what my favorite moment in Buffalo Bills history is. But I honestly can't think of anything. I think of the years they went to 4 straight Super Bowls from '91 to '94, but the first Super Bowl I ever saw was the following season in 95. So I never actually witnessed that period of time. Then you got the Music City Miracle, but that was AGAINST the Bills, not for them. I honestly can't think of one single moment that made an impact on me. So for that reason I will have to pass on this.

I was able to watch Bruce Smith for the last half of his career and man was he great! Hall of Famer who was a sack machine! QB crusher! He was a force for that Buffalo defense. 200 Sacks in his career. #1 all-time on the Sacks Leaders list. I wish I was able to witness his whole career but I am glad for what I was able to see. Runner up would be Jim Kelly as he is on my (off the top of my head) top 10 QB list of all time. Add Thurman Thomas to the list and what a sight it would be to see how that team would perform in today's NFL. I'd like to think that they would still be in the mix every year.
I hope you enjoyed this edition of "My Favorite In Team History". I will be going through the other 28 teams in the league in the following weeks and months. If you missed the last 3 head over to the "NFL" category and check them out. Do you have different favorites? Especially favorite moments. Let me know on twitter (@ScottSummersJRN). I would love to hear all of the cool moments that mean something to all of you!
