Can The Ball Hogs Turn It Around?

We are entering the 4th Season of the BIG3. Throughout that time we have seen 3 different Champions. We have seen many good teams, many average, but somehow the Ball Hogs always seem to be the worst. In 2017 they went 2-6 with a point differential of -56. In 2018 they went 1-7 with a point differential of -71. And in 2019 they went 1-7 again, with a point differential of -78. Just 4 wins in 3 seasons. Dead last, 3 years in a row. That's tough.
Last season Will McDonald and DeShawn Stevenson finished 3rd (128) and 6th (93) in points, respectively. Will McDonald finished 2nd in rebounds with 66, and DeShawn Stevenson in 6th with 43. DeShawn Stevenson, the only Ball Hog in the Top 10 in assists and steals, finished 2nd in assists with 27, and 4th in steals with 5. He also made the most 3 pointers with 20. But he took the most 3 point shots at 65. 24 more shots than the 2nd highest attempts. Every other player on the Ball Hogs is on the back end of it all.
Big things need to happen for the Ball Hogs to be competitive this season. With the BIG3 dropping the age restriction to 22, this is the time to put some real pieces around McDonald and Stevenson (if they will still be with the team) and let the league know this season will be different. As much as I like the "White Mamba" Brian Scalabrine, I think it is time for him to jump into the assistant coach role and free up a roster spot. They desperately need another scorer. Their 3rd best in points was Xavier Silas who finished at #31 with 35 points. In comparison, the 3 Headed Monsters had 3 players finish in the Top 15 in points.
It's time for the Ball Hogs to change things around. Make a run for the playoffs at the very least. Sitting dead last 3 years in a row is bad enough, but you know what is worse? Doing it for a 4th straight season. Tough decisions have to be made, new young players need to step in, and they need to make room for those players. Who needs to be let go? They need to do the opposite of whatever they have been doing. Because it hasn't worked. At all.
