DC [Fan] Defenders

Holy cow it's been a rough couple days... for DC fans that is. I, and others, have the DC Defenders as low as 7 on our XFL Power Rankings and their fans arent having it. They truly believe that their team should be ranked as high as #2. I explained in my Power Rankings article why I have them at #7, but for a quick recap, their starting QB Cardale Jones threw 7 picks in the last 3 games. They are 6th in total offense, 8th in average passing yards, 7th in points for & they were outscored 70-15 in the last 3 games. That is their #2 team in the league. Simply because their record is 3-2. Tampa Bay Vipers are 1st in total offense, 1st in average rushing yards, 4th in average passing yards, 3rd in points for & somehow are 1-4. So DC is a better team because they won 3 games? Or is TB just a better team who lost more?
But that isn't what DC fans want to hear. Their team is 3-2. That is the only thing that matters to them. When seeing my Power Rankings, one fan said
"Yeah.. a fan of the team who beat the team #2 on your standings... who also shares our record.. yet we’re 5 spots lower.. that’s ridiculous.. standings aren’t based off of your feelings".
When I presented him with the facts I listed above, and said he was letting his bias blind him from the facts he didn't want to acknowledge, which didn't equal feelings, he replied with
"No feelings is you ranking teams higher than teams with better records because you’d think they’re the better team. Record is a fact".
Like the FACTS I've stated over a hundred times and at the top of this article? He is telling me the difference between feelings and fact while being blinded by bias and missing that he is dismissing facts due to him being in his feelings.
"Yes. They’re a better team cause they’ve won more games. Exactly".
So people see standings as the measuring stick when comparing teams. If you rank teams due to their record, why are you worried about Power Rankings when you could be just looking at the standings? Another fan said
"Sounding like skip Bayless out here".
Which I took as such a compliment. Say what you want about Skip, but the dude knows his stuff, he's a good guy and he works hard. Whether you agree with him or not. He isn't afraid to tell you how he views things. He won't change his opinion just because someone doesn't agree with him. So thank you for that.
Of course, if new facts and evidence come to me and show me things I didn't see or know before, I am open to change my opinion to better reflect what I now know. But I won't be persuaded because of fans having their feelings hurt. No one that chimed in on my Power Rankings had an argument besides they were 3-2 and beat St. Louis. That was it. One other fan did mention
"As long as they start tyree jackson they are good".
Jackson was 11 for 18, for 46 yards and a TD for about 3 quarters and some change? So that's what? 4 yards per completion? I think it's really early to feel comfortable with Jackson as the starter. We need to see more from him. I definitely need to see more from him to determine if he is going to make DC a contender.
DC fans are taking this as I actually hate DC. Hell, I love the Dragons and I have them at #8. This isn't a popularity contest. This is what I see every single weekend. I've watched every single snap of every single game. I'm not just talking out my ass... like some people. If DC comes out and performs well, I will move them up accordingly. But I'm not going to place a team above another just because of their record. Like I said, if that is all you want, go look at the standings. Here I'll help you, here is the link. XFL Standings
