Despite QB BJ Daniels coming in after Halftime and leading the Dragons to outscore the #2 team in the league, St. Louis Battlehawks, 16-12, the Dragons still lost due to giving up 11 unanswered in the 1st Quarter. The QB change was made because starting QB Brandon Silvers had been struggling and many wanted a QB change. Coach Jim Zorn finally made that decision at the half during last weeks game. As I stated above, Daniels came in and ignited that offense and had it running like nothing we have seen from the Dragons this season.
One would think that BJ Daniels would get the clear nod for their game against the #1 team in the league, the Houston Roughnecks, right? Wrong. As of been reported at the time this is being written, Coach Zorn as said he is not ruling out using both QB's. The old saying goes, "If you have two quarterbacks, you have none", and for that reason, right not the Seattle Dragons have no QB.
Silvers had is chance to take control of this offense and he didn't do a great job of it. People were already telling the Dragons to bench him. I was one of those people. And wouldn't you know, benching him was the right thing to do, and it showcased a possible budding star in the XFL. But that seems to be snuffed out and its a damn shame.
With Daniels in the clear starting position at QB, they would have a real shot at upsetting the #1 Roughnecks this weekend. His dynamic play-style, that he showcased against the Battlehawks proves that. If Coach Zorn doesn't start BJ, he's a damn fool.
